As the fight to keep our 2nd amendment rights continue, we have seen more states allowing citizens to carry concealed firearms. Despite the latest victories, we must continue the battle to become complacent about our rights. Today, more than ever, we must fight to protect our rights as Americans.
Here are five ways to fight to keep our second amendment rights.
Join the National Rifle Association (NRA)
The NRA is the most renowned Second Amendment organization in the country. The organization has been present for every victory within the past hundred years. The NRA is also the most powerful organization that speaks for more than four million people. Join the group and perhaps donate your support.
Support Local Second Amendment organizations
Other pro-gun organizations around the country need our help. While these agencies may take on a different insight than the NRA, ultimately, they are fighting for the same goal. I recommend supporting a “no compromise “organization as this means they refuse to surrender any of our rights without reason. Consider Gun Owners of America or United States Concealed Carry Association.
Write to your local, state and even national representatives to let them know exactly how you feel about your rights to bare arms. You can choose to write them a letter or appreciation or ask for their support. If they are against the 2nd amendment, consider challenging them and question why. Be sure to frame your argument with intellectual facts. Discuss the benefits of arms ownership and use the information in a positive light. Be sure to make your letters polite without any threats. Consider the campaign positively.
Get Your License
While the rules and regulations vary from state to state, it is important to get the appropriate licensure to support your right. Even if you never plan on carrying a firearm, get your Concealed Handgun License. The more citizens who have permits, the more powerful we become to fight for our rights. If you do decide to own a firearm, make sure to get it legally with proper licensing and training.
Every gun owner and support must make the proper decisions both legally and correctly. This prevents the anti-gun activities from having any ammo to beat us. Now is the time to fight for your second amendment rights before it is too late.
